Job Description
The engineering polymer business of a leading global supplier of engineering polymers, is seeking someone who has product or process development formulation and compounding exp; working with extruder equipment. So in essence, Candidate has development, processing as well as testing experience. The company's products serve designers and engineers in a number of key markets such as automotive and aircraft industries, communications technology, consumer & recreational products, industrial application, medical and many more.
- Develop new products and technology for high temperature engineering thermo
plastics
.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to translate functional requirements for developing new products
+Identify new compounding , reinforcement, additive, flame retardants, blends, and stabilization technologies
+Continuously improve processes and productivity around high temperature materials and apply business critical knowledge; use and apply Six Sigma methods
- Willing to travel to meet customers and conduct compounding trials (10-20 % travel)
Required-
-Ph.D. Polymer Science or Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Materials Engineering/Chemistry
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in product or process development of engineering thermo
plastics
with hands on compounding experience
- Good interpersonal working skills
- Hands-on, self-starter, goal-oriented individual with drive for solving problems and finding innovative solutions in a timely manner
- Good project management skills
Desired--
Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) in DFSS and DMAIC
- Detail oriented and data-driven
- Polymer characterization techniques such as DSC, DMA, and capillary rheology
- Works safely in the laboratory or plant setting
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
