Job Description
Process Engineer
Due to growth and new program launches, this Tier I and Tier II automotive supplier is seeking a fast-paced process engineer. They are diverse in their business mix: Toyota, Honda, GM and Chrysler. Daily you will report to the engineering manager and work with a team of 4 other engineers. As a process engineer you will oversee product launch activities, focus on scrap reduction and process improvements, capital equipment projects, increase efficiencies and reduce scrap and troubleshooting tooling. Only candidates willing to work in demanding, fast-paced automotive environments should respond. Qualified candidates should enjoy floor presence, working in fast-paced environments, handle multiple projects, be detailed and thorough, work independently and communicate successfully at all levels. The organization is privately held and promotes the opportunity for key individuals to make an impact. This position does offer benefits, along with a 401K that matches up to 4.5%.
Requirements for the Process Engineer:
1. A minimum of a 4-year technical degree, ME, MET, industrial technologies preferred.
2. At least 5 years experience in a RECENT, SIMILAR automotive manufacturing/process engineering role. Environments are preferred to be process oriented.
3. Experience with Lean Manufacturing processes or Toyota Production Systems
4. Formal Problem Solving
5. A proven track record in continuous improvement
6. AutoCAD (specific to plant layout and designing of fixtures and jigs)
7. Strong Mechanical Troubleshooting
8. Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but
NOT
required:
1. Tooling Troubleshooting
2. Microsoft Project
3. Vendor Communication
4. Program Launch
5. Project Management
