Job Description
The engineering polymer business of  a global technology leader in the production of specialty materials and chemical products is searching for Market Development Engineer with exposure to additives for thermoplastics, rubbers or elastomers. Combined technical and marketing exp with customer contact is ideal.
    • Identify, pursue and multiply new technology applications of high molecular weight polytethylene.

       Assess and develop new business through the generation of technical value propositions. 

    • Provide technical service to customer base to resolve complaints, translate customer requirements into product specifications and introduce new resins.
    • Assist Global Segment Manager in tracking regional customer demand, market trends.
    • Provide guidance in customer service follow-up on “as needed” basis to make supply & demand match.
    • Give presentations at customers/seminars/conferences

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Technical problem solving and critical thinking
  • Plastics processing experience
  • Project management with track record of project success
  • Six sigma methodology
  • First class presentational skills
  • Front line customer contact and experience interacting with both converters and end users (Gaining specification)
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%

  • Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Overall work experience of 5+ years in plastics processing industry in a technical function, preferably with customer interaction.
  • Good teamworker, self starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in plastics processing in any of the following areas; membranes, films, technical fibers, coatings or plastic additives. 
  • Additional marketing skills, either studies or work experience
