Our client is the global leading supplier for dust removal systems for plastic processors and plastics manufacturers. Besides the plastics industry, the dedusting technology is also used in the food, mineral and recycling industries. In 2003, the company began to expand into the pneumatic conveying field and developed a new pressure conveying process. They have a wide range of pneumatic conveying components such as rotary valves, diverter valves and shut-off valves, specially designed for conveying of pellets and powders. They have a special pipe elbow which is used in the plastics industry to prevent dust and streamers in the conveying process.
The Sales Manager – Plastics Processors is responsible for the development of plastics processing and recycling markets, in addition to selling our products and leading our sales engineers, internal sales, and sales administrator. This position will report to the Vice President of Sales and is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct and support the activities of the sales group, while assisting in their continued professional development;
  • Managerial responsibilities include the following: interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning and assigning sales activities and work; addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with management;
  • Assign and prepare proposals;
  • Understand customer requirements and specifications in the process of preparing a quotation;
  • Review product design and adapt to customer needs in cooperation with R&D;
  • Visit customers as needed;
  • Develop OEM sales;
  • Introduce and present company program and capabilities to customers;
  • Plan and implement the quantitative objectives within budget guidelines;
  • Maintain or seek permanent contact with potential customers, in order to maintain and develop solid customer relationships with key customer base;
  • Oversee and execute systematic quotation follow-up;
  • Generate order confirmations and provide them to engineering;
  • Oversee the maintenance of Gross Margin cost sheets and calculation system;
  • Stay abreast of customer, market and technology trends as they relate to current and future business opportunities;
  • Continuously analyze, observe, and monitor the competition to fully understand and articulate the differences between competitors;

  • Develop and support marketing strategies and advertising campaigns in coordination with marketing and management;
  • Participate in trade shows;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field);
  • Position typically expects six (6)+ years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position and in area of supervision with one (1) year of leadership responsibility;
  • Ability to work independently, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions;
  • Experience in writing quotations, general business correspondence, sales and technical reports;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; SolidWorks experience is a plus;
  • Working knowledge of all major Microsoft Office programs;
  • Read, analyze, and interpret documents such as customer specifications, engineering reports, technical drawings, manuals, etc.;
  • Provide customer presentations, effectively present information, and respond to questions from employees;
  • Understanding of foreign exchange rates and basic business mathematics.
