The Quality & Technical Manager will provide oversight for the technical aspects of the products; the USA Quality System; Product development & Technical qualification; and provide support for the use of products in customer applications.
include the following.
Leads all Product Development and Technical Product / Project Management related to product lines. Includes management of plant trial activities; coordination with Operations to identify & ensure sustainable production; close cooperation with Operations to assess Process impact on products and coordination with Purchasing during raw material qualification or troubleshooting.
Oversees activities associated with the execution of North American based DTs to ensure proper selection of products in market applications.
Provide on-site customer technical support as required.
Leads company quality system in concert and alignment with company's European partners while maintaining ISO system/ certification.
Develop procedures, standards, program updates for technical service and quality.
Lead the customer complaint process and determine root cause identification for permanent corrective actions; collect details regarding claims and work with sales in quick resolution; participate in authorizing and recommending quality returns.
Provide training to internal personnel (Operations), Sales Team and customers to improve understanding of products and better familiarize with product range.
Reports to Managing Director.
Develops and maintains an effective Quality & Technical team through selection, training, performance review, termination, compensation and motivation.
Supervises Quality & Technical activities by providing guidance; oversight; sharing technical know-how and understanding; ensuring Inter-department & cross-department interactions.
Establishes and maintain training programs in all areas of operation including quality, safety, environmental concerns and efficient manufacturing practices.
Oral & Written Communication
Technical writing skills
Thorough understanding of ‘root cause’ identification & correction
Ability to create complex technical evaluations & interpret test results
Ability to manage complex & rapidly changing, technically demanding priorities
Thorough understanding of surface protection products & applications
Knowledge of Films; Papers; Adhesives; Coating & Slitting technologies
BS degree in Chemistry; Chemical Engineering or other technical discipline
5 years related industry experience
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Problem solving experimental method experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
ISO certification implementation.
