My client is a leading manufacturer of high quality plastic packaging machinery. They have been in business for over 50 years and specialize in food packaging and healthcare machinery. This is an international organization, continuing to grow and be a leading supplier here to the United States. They have over 200 employees and are doing around $200 million in revenue annually. The sales of packaging equipment has been successful and they are currently in a huge growth curve in employment and expanding their manufacturing, and are in need of an experienced Product Marketing Manager.

Your unique role with the company will be to manage products in packaging equipment throughout this companies portfolio. You will facilitate product planning and execution throughout the entire product lifecycle. You will be an integral part of the innovation and product development team by identifying potential products, conduct market research, and oversee the financial performance of the product. We are looking for a true project leader and someone who can manage a project, the time table, and see it through from concept to commercialization. You will also be responsible for assessing customer needs and provide creative solutions.

Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or other related fields
5 years experience in a commercial role, product engineering/management in the OEM space preferably plastics or packaging
Experience in leading projects, establishing timelines, and ensuring on-time completion
Strong communication and positioning skills, familiar with CRM systems
This position is located in Kansas City, MO. Kansas City is a beautiful area known for sports, arts, culture, museums, and entertainment. They have a pretty reasonable low cost of living and good schools. Great place to live and raise a family. As for career longevity there, Kansas City is home to a lot of manufacturing companies and a stable place for someone in a Controls position!
This position will do some travel as you go on-site with the sales team and meets with customers. Travel is expected to be 30-50%.
