Reports to the Industrial Engineering Manager
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate plastic injection molding processes in the plant with some responsibilities for assembly and testing
  • Utilize Scientific molding concepts in planning new processes and the improvement of existing processes using PFMEA Methodology
  • Utilize internal and external resources to develop and validate implementation plans prior to implementation of project changes
  • Support product development and process / tooling design to insure efficient production methods
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, related costs and identify applicable lessons learns as inputs to new product cost estimation in support of new business acquisition
  • Develop machine and process specifications, complete supplier sourcing, and complete capital purchase of new equipment through validation and handover to production
  • Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace
  • Apply analytical thinking and data analysis to develop and execute sound validation of change impacts to product quality, deliver, cost, and safety
  • Communicate with team shareholders and when necessary escalate to ensure efficient removal of obstacles
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate manufacturing capabilities to meet future requirements, improve current processes, and develop tools and standards to support shop floor
  • Lead cross functional team activities to identify top issues, plan and implement appropriate corrective actions, and track and validate effectiveness
  • Act as value stream leader for the processes assigned
  • Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastic Processing
  • 5years minimum experience in an injection molding engineering role with direct responsibility for injection molding process and applied experience to plastic material chemistry
  • Possess a thorough understanding of scientific molding concepts
  • Hands On
  • Prefer RJG Master Molder II or equivalent
  • Prefer Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Prefer Experience with robotic programming
  • Prefer Application Experience with lean tools similar to Value Stream Mapping, Kanban system design and implementation, Total Predictive Maintenance
  • Prefer Application experience with structured pro lem solving techniques/ tools
  • Prefer Tier 1 automotive experience
  • Prefer Application experience with MS Project
  • German Language a ability is a plus
