Job Description

Job Title:                  Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Reports To:              Director of Operations
Travel:                       Approx. 20%

This role is responsible for the management of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs for three corporate work-sites, including all required reporting to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and worker safety.   

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and updates of all EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Create and maintain all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety reports including OSHA 300 Logs and 300A etc.
  • Conduct EHS compliance training.
  • Plan and implement safety training for new employee orientation.
  • Coordinate with HR on worker’s compensation claims and return to work programs.
  • Assist with incident investigations and develop written reports for internal and external publication.
  • Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Assist in promotion and proper use of PPE and ergonomics for employees to prevent injury.
  • Assist with projects, recordkeeping, audits and other administrative tasks including the Corporate CSR reporting.
  • Responsible for safety incident rate reporting, analysis and countermeasure tracking.
  • Represents the organization in community or industrial safety groups and programs
  • Ordering of safety supplies and products 
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task a must.
  • Must be willing and able to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and basic computer skills.
  • A Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other industry related safety regulations required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements.
